Blessings for 2011 to you all

Making new things for the shop

Hi there. Back to work and keeping the shop open this year until we go on holiday in March. Have ordered a new easel so I can work at the back of the shop and keep the doors open too!

However, before it arrives I have spent the last three days making boxes. You can just see one on the table here. More details in next post

Happy Christmas to you all

snowy seats!
Christmas window

Happy Christmas! It is very snowy here and very beautiful. Winter solstice on Tuesday 21st… shortest day in the northern hemisphere and then the light starts to return. Lighting white candles early in the morning and they look good against the snow outside.  It doesn’t feel so dark.

On-line orders will be dispatched all the time Royal Mail are collecting and so far they are doing brilliantly.
We are open until Christmas Eve at 5pm and re-open on 27th December.
May you be merry and bright.

Autumn Watch in Wester Ross!

Virginia Creeper and a stag

This stag was created by Meurnie at Shards Stained Glass. Meurnie makes some of our stained glass hangings and has also been known to deliver the post,  shear sheep,  offer self-catering and drive lorries. All with dangly ear-rings.  Like many people living and working in the Highlands, life is never dull!

Making gift tags

Joy that glows Gifts that glitter

I love making gift tags from all the odd pieces of hand-painted watercolour papers and threads.

Just a tiny piece can be exciting.

Candlelit afternoon in the yurt

Beautiful driftwood lampbase and shade made by David Holmes at Nautilus design

This was the middle of the afternoon! it was rather dark and raining for the workshop. Thought this made a cheery atmosphere in the yurt.

‘Highland weather’ dreamcatcher

amethyst bead in the rain.......and the sun.....and the cloud

Michael is staying with us and  took this photograph today for the website…….it’s our ‘Highland ‘dreamcatcher and has an amethyst bead .

Love the light shining through the bead. It’s like heather and thistle in the Highlands.

some gift tags with feathers

feathered gift tags

Have been making gift tags. So love doing this. Using all our beautiful hand-painted papers and selection of yarns and sparkly threads, often with beads and, as here, feathers. We have always wrapped purchases in our shop in the Highlands if people wish and it is appreciated (especially for that last-minute purchase).  So, on-line purchasers  will be able to request this too.

We will also sell packets of tags for  personal use at home. More later.

On-line shop very soon now

Nic working on the on-line shop.

Nic had just been on a four mile run.

Think the admin site for the web page has been more like a marathon.

Thank goodness for Nic.

Shop will be ready very soon now.

We will be offering a gift-wrapping service just like the one we offer in the  ‘real’ shop.
