The yurt is open for summer and autumnn workshops making dreamcatchers. Prices are £10 per person per hour and include all materials. Workshops are usually for one up to ten people. Book your own time and we can nearly always suit your timetable.

22/5/2011 - Welcome to Patterns of Light

Welcome. This is a postcard called 'Suppertime' and has something of the spirit of our Loch about it. A long card (29x11.5 cms) and printed here on inkjet watercolour paper.

I attended a dreamcatcher workshop last week with my family, run by Jenny, and I want to thank you for such a great time. I really enjoyed the activity, the peacefulness of the time spent in the yurt, and seeing my 2 daughters, (and husband), get so much out of making such a beautiful and unique piece of art. I unpacked mine today and hung it up straight away. I would recommend the workshop to everyone! Thank you. Carol.

'Very Vintage' Silk Parrot Bag. This fabulously eye-catching bag evokes the flamboyance of the art nouveau era. Any self-respecting flapper would have been delighted to own one! Made from a delicate pure silk scarf decorated with parrots, this one is fully lined in purple silky fabric and backed with the same.

11/2/2011 - Honeysuckle, marmalade and gift tags

Marmalade and gift tags. The marmalade was made in January. I love the smell of marmalade all over the house.

My mother or my grandmother always made it so I had no need. Now, it's down to me and I'm loving it. Ordered so many Seville oranges that, even after I had supplied friends in the village, I still had too many for gifts and breakfast for a year. So...... into the shop with the remainder.

My real take on all this marmalade-making is the importation of sunshine from Spain straight into my kitchen in the dark time of the year. Perfect.

Now.....honeysuckle........two friends, Maureen and Tony, arrived with honeysuckle prunings. Have been making dreamcatcher hoops (and selling one!). They said:

We have been slashing and burning and thought of you........what a good community.

Wouldn't live anywhere else.
